It happened one Monday morning. The roar of machines and the sudden removal of a historically protected property once used as a studio by a prominent Dunedin artist.

Next door, a large housing development is underway at a Durham St site, which according to the developers has already sold out.

But residents from an adjacent street, who have had developers knock on their doors, fear the fabric of their area is under threat by another development.
