This week, while sitting in a coronial hearing, I heard my cousin had died.
I hadn’t seen him since a family funeral, and years before that, but he was a great guy from a lovely family.
My mum had flown to the other end of the country for the funeral, and in between a break in the coronial hearing, she read a lovely text from her nephew sent to her in the days before his death.
But not everyone gets that kind of closure.
