I have to question why the incumbent mayor's profile was left until last. Arguably, others seem to have got an unfair advantage. Nonetheless, I for one am grateful to have waited. Aaron #1

Good question Mr Pies. They have been published in the order we received them. I still have Pamela to go. No response from Cr Vandervis.

Well that is entirely fair. Noted re: Pamela. As for Vandervis: I am all for parking my judgement, fine.

Aaron is a pretentious shit who yesterday uttered the very right wing term so beloved of all the weak "leaders" of the world 'build back better'.

Boris Johnson parodied this term (build back butter etc) which makes him the more likeable of all the WEFrs we have on the world stage (Trudeau, Macron, Ardern, the Finnish PM you know mostly fake left wingers)

Richard you are currently my #2. I am confused by the above reaction 🤔. I may have misread you here.

Aaron should not be #1 for anyone. Women will suffer immediately from his policies at the Moana Pool and his ode to the WEF chant of 'build back better' yesterday on the Channel 39 interviews indicates a nasty association of his. His one way on George St is not good for pedestrians, cyclists, car drivers and retailers (If I became Mayor I'd ask Weatherall to come with me to the Netherlands to talk to retailers there because we can do cycling in this city but just need it to be done well). Aaron is on board with setting up a SMART city (basically just a surveillance city - I studied them at Amsterdam Uni last year) He is the least likeable of all the candidates. Sophie the next least likeable. And shockingly Lee is the most likeable, a 2019 conclusion for me, a surprise to me as well. And I'm not necessarily of the opinion that he will be bad for cycling, public transport either just something that someone who knows him well told me. Jett and Bill are fine as well. And Jules is at least approachable. Carmen the least unpleasant to me at the moment of the three women candidates who are all on board with the transwomen demand to be allowed to enter women's facilities at Moana, which I'm not on board with.

If I lose your vote for this truth so be it.

I suggest to anyone reading this missive from Hamish that they should go to Twitter and figure out whether he's worth following as a journalist. Because he has his favourites, all establishment (Aaron, Sophie), and plays to Scout River on Twitter, the most toxic candidate in 2019 save for maybe Aaron and widely disliked in the Greens for it. And he has had a decade long vendetta against Lee on the other hand. And he acts like a bully to me from start to finish of any online conversation. Certainly if I became Mayor Stuff would need to find another journalist if they wanted any content from the Mayor's office.

Dunedin local politics is toxic, NZ politics is toxic. There needs some new hands on the till.

'Women will suffer immediately' - no. Richard, I recommend a book by Shon Faye, The Transgender Issue, to help you understand what a beat-up this moral panic over trans people is. It is a brilliant dissection of exactly this kind of confected suspicion and outrage.

I see that you're still hanging around that extremist by the name of Dudley Benson on Twitter Hamish as he lies from here to Kaitaia about me on the back of lies from another extremist called Rangi Kemara.

Have a read of this;

I'm afraid grief is not going to be enough here. We need prosecutions.

The substance is not in my noting that you're still playing friendly with the likes of Dudley Benson, Hamish.

It's in Guy Hatchard's commentary on the Government reversal over their previous support of a poisoning campaign. I'm just passing it along.

Hey Mish, considering your scumbag "media" employer is trying desperately to associate me with Voices for Freedom I figured I'd give you a helping hand.

At the risk of sounding repetitive - what the hell are you talking about? Can you please keep your discussions on this newsletter to discussions contained in this newsletter. I've been more than tolerant.

At the risk of sounding repetitive this is Substack not Twitter so maybe park your Twitter shit at the door. Your employer has Rangi Kemara on its payroll and Rangi is lying through his teeth about me. I address what VFF is in the above link.

And I have truly had enough of you Hamish. Aaron has zero chance of winning this Mayoral race and I guess Lee is the most likely. So enjoy your job while you still have it.

Can you send me a link so I can try and understand what you are talking about regarding Rangi Kemara, who I'm pretty sure doesn't work for Stuff.

I'm aware this is Substack and not Twitter, but ultimately this is my newsletter (one you vowed not to return to) and includes topics that interest me. The topics that you are interested in, yourself, have less appeal. I do enjoy my job and plan to stick with it for a long time.

Rangi is credited here;

Rangi lies about me here;

Dudley Benson and others are repeating that lie. FYI there is one email from VFF on that email for a zoom that they were doing on what was happening at the universities. I'm pretty sure that I watched that zoom but am rather unimpressed with VFF tbh and definitely not a member. As above it seems that VFF is mightily compromized.

Hamish, heads up, I've not received email notification of this newsletter (double checked spam and my deleted folder in case it got caught up with other things), nor is it appearing in my Substack inbox 🤷‍♀️ not sure if it's an issue at my end, Substack or yours 🤔
