A truly strong woman coming forward and sharing her story, I hope this helps for someone else. Let's hope this predator is removed from society and helped.

Great choice of music 🎶

Thanks, and thankful she got through it relatively unscathed. Just another reminder to us all to check the rego ...which I guess we all do when sober. He should be easy enough to find, even for under-resourced police.

Good CCTV in the Octagon, shouldn't be hard

Unless I’ve missed something in the details, when the driver ended up …”touching her breasts” isn’t that an act that’s moved into the arena of physical assault? (At the very least.)

Hey Tony, the driver didn't end up touching her but made the threat multiple times. I think if they catch him he could face a kidnapping charge, given he wouldn't open the door.

Uber should also care about this if people are using their brand in this way. @hamish McNeilly did you approach them for comment at all?

No, I didn't. Got to the story quite late as I had a sentencing. I think this is more a police matter, than anything a multinational company would comment on, given it wasn't one of their drivers. But if we get some more people coming forward, I'll go to them

Appreciate that but if I was Uber I’d want to reassure punters that Uber drivers follow procedures etc which would help differentiate and cement the value of sharing this cautionary tale. My point. I’ll tag Uber in to my post on dunedin news etc
